Why on-site nitrogen gas generation?
Better performance
Nitrogen tyres lose pressure much slower than normal air filled tyres. Because Nitrogen is the slowest migrating gas through a tyre, fewer top-ups are needed, and therefore less worry about your tyres. Nitrogen escapes out of a tyre nearly 4 times slower than oxygen and 117 times slower than gaseous water vapour. Nitrogen filled tyres perform better when you need them most.
Improved safety
A nitrogen inflated tyre cannot combust or explode, improving safety. Particularly important to large open cast mines with big haul trucks carrying heavy loads in hot, harsh conditions.
Extended tyre life
Nitrogen inflated tyres run at optimum temperature, maintain better pressure and therefore flex less, extending tyre life and reducing tyre costs. Correctly inflated tyres also have a reduced rolling resistance and consume less energy to drive, reducing fuel consumption. Up to 30% extended tyre life and 2% improved fuel consumption.
